Iveco supplies S-Way rigs to Scuderia Ferrari
Iveco, an Official Partner of Scuderia Ferrari and Official Sponsor of the Ferrari Challenge Europe race series, delivered two specially-finished S-Way prime movers to the Scuderia Ferrari Formula 1 team in late April, with the handover at Ferrari’s Fiorano factory test track.
In the presence of Luca Sra, President, Truck Business Unit, Iveco Group, and Laurent Mekies, Scuderia Ferrari Racing Director - Head of Track Area, the two S-Way trucks extend the Iveco fleet already in use by Scuderia Ferrari.
Iveco says both trucks are more than suited to hauling the Maranello team motorhome. Each is equipped with a 570hp (420kW) Cursor 13 engine, a 12-gear HI-TRONIX automated transmission and fully automatic suspension. They S-Way trucks also feature an advanced Infotainment system with satnav, Iveco Driver Pal and a 4G connectivity box.
Both trucks are finished in an exclusive paint shade typically seen on Ferrari’s F1 cars and carry special livery
Luca Sra, President, Truck Business Unit, Iveco Group, commented: “We are very proud of our brand being linked to such a world sporting legend. For the past 20 years, we have worked with Ferrari, which has entrusted our high-performance and reliable vehicles with the logistics and handling of its most important assets. We share similar values and ambitions, the passion and competitive spirit needed to perform at the highest level.
“Just like the Scuderia Ferrari, we are driven by a fighting passion to strive for excellence, constantly pushing the boundaries of what is possible to raise the bar on our performance day after day, always aiming for the top.”
The Iveco S-Way is a heavy-duty truck, developed to deliver a complete package of features and services focused on the driver, on sustainability and on an advanced level of new, connectivity-enabled customised services. Iveco call the S-Way a “transport solution” designed to enhance the driver’s life on board.
The S-Way’s engine line-up of ‘Cursor 11’ and ‘Cursor 13’ six-cylinder powerplants are both of available in two different power outputs. The Cursor 13 in the S-Way rigs for Scuderia Ferrari was previously available in 480hp (353kW) and 540hp (397kW) form, but now comes in a choice of 510hp (375kW) or 570hp (420kW), as selected by Scuderia Ferrari.
Additionally, the S-Way offers advanced technologies, outstanding aerodynamic performance and innovative and tailor-made services. It is a 100 per cent connected truck, which Iveco says opens a new era in fleet management and on-board living, supporting logistics operators and fleet managers by optimising the vehicle’s uptime and fuel efficiency.
