Upon its local introduction in 2009, the 'Big Red' Multipurpose Utility Vehicle (MUV) already stood head and shoulders above all other contenders, thanks to its superior handling, secure feel and comfortable ride.
At the heart of this MUV is a powerful four-stroke, liquid-cooled, OHV 675cc single-cylinder engine that feeds power through a three-speed automatic transmission. The engine design provides a broad powerband for plenty of grunt around the farm, worksite, or anywhere else you need it.
A key element in this engine's consistent performance is Honda's Programmed Fuel Injection system. Beginning with a marked increase in power output, other benefits of the PFI include crisp throttle response, improved fuel consumption, easy cold starting and smoother idle control, thanks to the Idle Air Control Valve.
Unique to the MUV700 is the incorporation of an automotive-style transmission that features a hydraulic torque converter, three hydraulic clutches and an ECM to automatically select one of three forward gears or reverse.
Selectable drive modes include: 2WD with open rear diff for sensitive terrain and turf operation; 4WD with rear differential lock for rough conditions; and 4WD with all-wheel differential lock, all three of which can be activated by the dash-mounted drive selector.
The MUV700 features fully independent front and rear suspension, four-wheel disc brakes, a wide track for confidence-inspiring handling and a host of available accessories.
Safety features, like automotive style double latching doors and three-point seat belts (with an Emergency Locking Retractor mechanism and side nets) combine with a uniquely designed Roll Over Protection Structure (ROPS) in sturdy, large diameter tubing. This has been certified to meet the requirements of OSHA 1928.53.
Towing and carting capability add to the MUV700's credentials. An impressive 680kg towing capacity (via a receiver-style hitch) can be supplemented by the tilting bed, which boasts a 454kg load capacity and is large enough to fit a standard cargo pallet with room to spare.
