Seller's Description
Dodge Brothers Truck 1928 2.5 Tonne Long Wheel Base Unfinished Project. Sitting in my garage, not being worked on! We both work full time in pretty demanding jobs, and also with young kids, and other challenges going on. Bit of more than I can chew. Has all the parts to complete the project except for the timber cab and timber door frame, and the left door skin. The door can be easily replicated from the right door as it is a rectangular metal sheet with a fold all round and square window opening. Has all the remaining parts and some extras. Comes with badges for radiator and dash. The first couple of pics are of the truck before the restoration was started and not in so many pieces. The blue truck is a restored example of a 1.5 tonner with the metal doors. The work that has been done is a complete rolling chassis consisting of: -Newly built split rims x5 -Newly built brake drums x4 -Brand New Tyres x4 -New Hydraulic Wheel Cylinders, front and back (rare for vehicles of this age to have hydraulic brakes, these were the first to have rubber wheel cylinder caps instead of leather, which made them reliable and viable) -Blasted and painted wheels -New running boards, and kick plates -New hardwood tray, has been kept indoors, so absolutely no weathering of the raw timber. -New shackles and leaf springs -Blasted and painted chassis, has no rust at all. Engine (and gearbox) is not the original side valve Senior Six. It is a 1950 230 ci side valve, which has more power and would be more reliable. Extras that I have sourced: -Spare Radiator Surround -Spare Set of complete headlights -Spare Front Guards -Spare Dash Cluster -Comes with 2 books - mechanics manual and original owners manual -rear wheel guards, if you so wish to put them on. -Plenty of photos of original and restored Dodge Brothers Trucks, inside of cab and outside of truck. I was thinking of parting it out, and probably making much more money, but it would be a shame as all the parts are there for the whole rebuild, and its just the cab and dash that needs to be built, then a spraypaint and assembly. It is nearly identical to the 1927 Graham Brothers Truck (who made parts for the Dodge Brothers), and was badged as a Dodge Brothers when Mr Chrysler took over in early July 1928. I can give quotes and arrange for reasonably priced transport of the whole project. Pick up and payment must be within 6 weeks, as I need to clear my garage. I reserve the right to end listing early as I have listed the truck for sale elsewhere. Check out my other listing of a 1927 1Tonner Graham Brothers Gboy - Project It is also complete with original motor (recoed) and a newly built Timber C cab, that is the same as the 28 dodge except for a C cab instead of Doors If you bought both, it will pack on the carriers as one truck space, as the Gboy is in more pieces (not a rolling chassis). I would say that of the two, the Gboy would need more restoration. The rolling chassis on the Dodge with the new wheels, was a big expense and a lot of work.
