For Sale 2012 VM SWB Ford Transit Van, asking $15K.
Officially it’s a - VM Transit 280 SWB FWD 2.2L (turbo diesel) DSL 92Kw 6SPD Man Van in Frozen White, 330Nm which moves it along quite nicely and being a diesel I reckon it’s only just run in.
A one owner vehicle, purchased from a Ford dealership by myself as a very low K’s demo 396k’s, the van was basically brand new, and has now traveled 145,000 k’s with the vast majority on highways and byways. Never done a day’s work and used mainly as a camper van and occasionally would tow a small trailer. Steering is tight, brakes are strong, doesn’t leak or use a drop of oil.
Engine is the same engine that went into Ford Ranger 2wd ute, this is a late model design electronic turbo diesel, I get 6.5L/per hundred and I’m extremely gentle with my stuff and don’t abuse my vehicles, the van cruses loaded or empty over every hill thrown at it in top, it’s a grunt machine.
Things that have gone wrong are, a stone chip in the windscreen tossed up by a construction truck on the M5, (filled with windscreen repair resin but it’s still very obvious) and the fuel cap is getting a bit fiddly to get off, doesn’t bother me and that’s it only faults. I’ve got a small bottle of Ford factory frozen white paint and any stone chips in the paint are touched up as soon as I spot them.
Apart from the above mentioned very small issues this van has never let me down, I’ve had zero problems since driving it out of the Ford dealership. It’s been factory serviced right on service intervals and on its second set of Goodyear Cargo tyres, I got 90,000 out of the first set..

Radio CD player with Aux input and all the other standard stuff, A/C, electric windows, immobilizer, bucket seats with armrests etc. and everything works perfectly, this van is a joy to drive.
Lots of storage space, hidey holes everywhere, large door pockets, center dash piece flips out to form a small table with cup holders, large bottle storage on both sides of the dash as well as in the doors, top of the dash in front of both driver and passenger flips up for two more storage options along with storage areas under the seats.
Cargo area for a SWB Van is huge and has a factory cargo area rubber floor fitted, I built a bed and can sleep cross-ways in the cargo area, I go away and can live pretty comfortably for as long as needed, I even put some serious heat insulation on the roof inside the cargo area, it’s the stuff used in high horsepower marine engine rooms, it works well, I was always going to get around to doing the side walls but never really had a need to do so.
I honestly believe you will not find a better example of this model Transit, it will pass any test or inspection, I thought long and hard about upgrading but I have a genuine need to get an automatic so reluctantly offer it for sale. Rego is due in September and that is reflected in the price being asked.
