TUNS OF POWER The Tunland is the first light commercial vehicle in the world to be powered by a Cummins ISF engine, a recent addition to Cummins' legendary range of powerful and reliable engines. The ISF 2.8 litre turbo diesel intercooled engine supplies the Tunland Single Cab 4x4 and Dual Cabs with 120kw @ 3,600rpm and a flat torque curve of 360Nm from 1,800rpm to 3,000rpm. The revolutionary design of the ISF balances performance with economy, achieving a combined fuel consumption of 8.3 litres per 100km* on the Single Cab 4x4 and Dual Cabs. The waste gated turbo charger, developed by Cummins Turbo Technologies, provides excellent performance across the rpm range as well as an improved response through higher low-end torque.
TUNS OF TECHNOLOGY The Tunland Single Cab 4x4 and Dual Cabs are fitted with a Getrag 5 speed JC538 manual transmission. Getrag, a German company, is the world's largest independent supplier of transmissions and drive systems for passenger and commercial vehicles. The transfer case in the Tunland 4x4s is supplied by BorgWarner and allows shifting between 4x2 High and 4x4 High on-the-fly at speeds of up to 80km/h. For safety reasons 4x4 Low is selectable only when the vehicle is stationary.
